Katie Firedancing is a Licensed Associate Counselor who specializes in attachment and developmental trauma, couples therapy and mood disorders. For the past 5 years she has worked with individuals, couples and adolescents in a private practice setting. Katie has a passion for helping people identify and heal core wounds. Katie is trained in both EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy. She received her Masters in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy from Grand Canyon University.
Katie is passionate about couples both married and pre-marital, equipping them to have healthier relationships through facilitating healthy attachment and vulnerable connection. Katie employs the therapeutic frameworks of Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, as well as the Gottman Method when working with couples. She believes that marriage is one of the most beautiful and transformational unions, however as a married woman herself understands the challenges that accompany joining ones life with another. Katie also enjoys working with individuals, helping each person to seek healing for their trauma through the framework of EMDR Therapy. When she is not counseling Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
Katie completed her 10 month internship with Beauty for Ashes Therapy in June 2019 and is continuing her work as a Licensed Associate Counselor under the supervision of Danielle Cutrer, MS, LPC who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
